Stony Rapids Testrun


Autism is not new, but it is a condition that is not very well-publicized or understood. My mission is to encourage local and national media attention on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its challenges so that the public gains information and awareness.
This is to help build the grassroots action working to improve the current situation experienced by people of all ages with ASD, as well as their families and communities. Full Story

My son, Eric Justin Mercier Powaschuk, is the inspiration behind my “Ride up for Autism”. Line and I were married in April, 2002, and Eric was born at the Regina General Hospital on January 27, 2003 . Eric was a healthy child from birth, but when he was approximately 14 months old, he began to show signs of delayed growth in his vocal and social development.

Now that my modified motorcycle and gear are almost ready, I made my first winter testrun on February 16, 2007. The purpose was to determine fuel consumption in cold weather, and check the winter highway holding conditions of the bike with a full simulated expedition load of about 800 pounds – that includes me, my gear, and the bike itself!
My plan was to leave Regina and drive to Saskatoon and back on the double-lane highway – a total distance of about 550 kms. Full Story
